Foundation Update

We've all heard the old adage that "timing is everything", and two months into my tenure as Chair of the Jewish Foundation, I couldn't agree more. Over the past couple of years, we have lived, worked and worried under the cloud of economic crisis. These have been tumultuous times, but it appears that we – as a nation, a community and as a foundation – have weathered the financial storm. Here at the Jewish Foundation, we remained steadfast; there was neither paralysis nor panic. We continued to distribute grants, ensuring that our valued family of donors were able to maximize their distributions, furthering our important mandate of building and supporting the Jewish community at home and abroad particularly at a time when it was needed most. We are moving forward with a renewed sense of energy as more donors are considering endowment funds and adding to existing funds.

A full economic recovery may take some time, but if we can accomplish so much, under such difficult conditions, imagine what we can do once the clouds have finally cleared.
