Benjamin is a member of the CIBC economic team responsible for analyzing macroeconomic developments and their implications for fixed income, equity, foreign exchange, and commodities markets. He also acts in an advisory capacity to bank officers on issues related to wealth management, household credit and risk, and corporate credit and risk. Well-known for his groundbreaking published research on topics such as labour market dynamics, real estate, credit markets, international trade, and business economic conditions, Benjamin not only contributes to the conversation but also frequently sets the agenda.
With close to 20 years of experience in the private sector, Benjamin advises clients, industry leaders, corporate boards, trade associations, and government agencies on economic and financial issues. He is also a regular commentator in the media. Benjamin is a member of the Economic Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Committee of the Toronto Board of Trade. He is also a board member for the Governors of Junior Achievement of Central Ontario and Toronto Financial International.
Kimberly A. Whaley is the founding and managing partner of Whaley Estate Litigation Partners, a top-ranked trusts and estates boutique in Canada. She is a certified specialist in estates and trusts law, a distinguished fellow of the Canadian Centre for elder Law, and Canada’s 2024 OBA Award of Excellence winner in trusts and estates law.
Kimberly represents clients in estate, trust, fiduciary, capacity, and elder law disputes, and has mediated such matters for more than 23 years. She is the Canadian representative on STEP Worldwide Council; a Best Lawyers and Chambers-ranked lawyer; author and lecturer; and serves on multiple advisory boards, including the OSC Seniors Expert Advisory Committee. Brandon’s practice focuses on personal, corporate, and trust planning for high-net-worth individuals, professionals, executives, and owner-managers, both domestic and international. He advises on corporate reorganizations, business and real estate transactions, estate planning, immigration and emigration, and structuring for non-profits and charities. He also counsels investment fund managers on structuring and tax issues.
With a background in tax litigation, Brandon represents clients before taxation authorities in audits, assessments, and voluntary disclosures. He has written and presented extensively on tax topics, served on the Ontario Bar Associations’ Taxation Law Section Executive, and contributed to Canadian Tax Foundation conferences.
