Dr. Kenneth I. Shulman

Dr. Kenneth Shulman graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed his postgraduate training at the University of Toronto and the Institute of Psychiatry in London, England, and completed a master’s degree in health policy and management at the Harvard School of Public Health. He is a professor of psychiatry and the inaugural recipient of the Richard Lewar Chair in Geriatric Psychiatry at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, University of Toronto.

Kenneth has been qualified as an expert witness in estate matters in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, British Columbia, Texas, and Bermuda. Together with colleagues he has published several papers on testamentary capacity and undue influence in international journals and is a frequent presenter at legal and finance continuing education conferences on estates and trusts.


Tasso Lagios

Tasso Lagios has worked with and guided highly successful business owners, entrepreneurs, and their families on a variety of matters dealing with wealth transition, business succession, governance, and a wide array of complex taxation matters. He understands the importance of aligning estate planning and wills, trusts, shareholder agreements, matrimonial regimes, and life insurance, so that all personal and business objectives are integrated.

For more than 30 years, Tasso's goal has been to make every client feel comfortable and confident that their financial roadmap is in dedicated hands. Tasso sits on the advisory board of successful business families and acts as an effective mediator on sensitive matters, such as shareholder disputes.


Michael Sherman

Michael Sherman leads RBC’s behavioural science team, where he applies behavioural economics to enhance client experience, strategy, and communication. A lawyer with an MBA, Michael has lectured at Yale University School of Management and the Rotman School of Management. Michael has advised Members of Parliament about behavioural economics and chairs Canada’s behavioural economics network. His insights have been featured on television and in major publications, including the Globe and Mail.


Rachel Blumenfeld

Rachel Blumenfeld’s practice focuses on trusts and estates, personal tax planning, and charities and not-for-profit law. She advises on tax, trusts, estate planning and administration, preparation of wills, power of attorney documents, business succession, and insurance planning.

Rachel has significant experience with cross-border planning for clients who have U.S. or other foreign connections. She also works with families with disabled children to plan and structure their estates appropriately, and offers advice to charities and donors on planned giving, philanthropic programs, administration of bequests, and other gifts. Rachel is the current chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Canada, the director of Reena, and chair of Reena’s Governance and Nominations Committee.
