Nurit Altman has over 20 years of experience selling commercial real estate across Canada. Nurit advises clients on the acquisition and disposition of investment properties, with a focus on the multi-family, retail, office, and mixed-use sectors. Over the course of her career, Nurit has completed some of Canada’s most significant advisory assignments totaling more than $10 billion of commercial real estate transactions. Nurit is an active industry participant and is a regular speaker at industry forums.
Jessica Feldman Chittley is a partner at Bales Beall LLP, a boutique firm specializing in the intersection of family and estate law. Jessica's practice is devoted to assisting clients with their estate planning and assisting executors/beneficiaries after a death, but often in the context of family law issues. Jessica is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars, a former adjunct professor at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law, and an active member of STEP Canada.
Jonah Mayles (LLB, TEP) brings over 15 years of experience in tax and estate planning for high net-worth individuals, families, and private corporations. Before joining Sterling Park, he was a tax lawyer at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP and Torkin Manes LLP, where his practice focused on business succession planning, estate planning, advising on and drafting family trusts, and structuring/implementing tax-efficient sales and purchases of businesses.
Dr. Jack Mintz took on his current role at the University of Calgary after serving as the palmer chair and founding director from 2008 to 2015. He is a board member of Mackenzie Health and the Aristotle Foundation for Public Policy. He is a member of the editorial board of International Tax and Public Finance and is weekly contributor to the Financial Post of Canada. Jack received the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012; the Queen Elizabeth Platinum Medal in 2023; and became a member of the Order of Canada in 2015.
Kevyn practices at the intersection of Canadian and U.S. tax, where there are both individuals and entities involved. Cross-border estate planning is a large part of his work. Throughout his almost four-decade career, Kevyn has spoken and written on a wide range of topics. He has presented and taught for many educational institutions and professional organizations, including the Canadian Tax Foundation, CPA Canada, York University, and the Florida Bar Association. He is a perennial contributor to Wolters Kluwer and appears on television and radio.
Debbie Pearl-Weinberg previously worked as the general tax counsel to CIBC. Debbie is an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto law school. Debbie is currently vice-chair of the Investment Fund Institute of Canada’s Taxation Working Group. She writes and consults on a variety of personal and small business tax issues. Debbie is a speaker both internally to CIBC advisors and at industry conferences, symposiums, and client events. She has been a guest on CBC Radio’s Ontario Today and has been quoted as a tax expert in Investment Executive, Globe Advisor, and Advisor.ca.
