UJA Legacy Gift

Be there for your community's future

With a UJA Legacy Gift, you can endow your gift to United Jewish Appeal’s Campaign and guarantee future support for critical programs and services in the Jewish community.

A UJA Legacy Gift at the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto is a permanent fund dedicated to ensuring that your gift to United Jewish Appeal’s Campaign continues forever.

The amount required to endow your campaign gift is calculated by multiplying your current gift by twenty-five. For example, if your campaign gift is $1,000 the amount required to permanently endow is $25,000. As an alternative, you may endow a portion of your gift by establishing a UJA Legacy Gift with a lesser amount and then, if desired, build up through subsequent contributions.

A UJA Legacy Gift is a powerful statement to your family and community about your values and your hopes for the future.

There are several ways to establish a UJA Legacy Gift:

GIFTS OF CASH OR ASSETS

With an outright gift of cash or appreciated assets like stocks or bonds.

BEQUEST

A simple clause in your Will is the most common technique for creating a UJA Legacy Gift through a bequest.

GIFTS OF LIFE INSURANCE

By naming the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, you are able to receive a tax receipt for the annual premiums.

ADDITIONAL FUNDING VEHICLES

Additional funding vehicles are also available and the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto or your financial estate planner can help you select the option that best suits your philanthropic goals.

GIFTS OF RRSPS OR RRIFS

Subject to high taxation when left in your estate, you can transfer your RRSP or RRIF, in whole or in part, to the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto, creating a fund to perpetuate your UJA Campaign gift. You can also name the Jewish Foundation as beneficiary of your RRSP or RRIF and receive a tax receipt for your estate.
